This class is suitable for students of our Beginners Modern Calligraphy workshop or for those who have some experience of calligraphy. You should be comfortable using a dip pen and creating basic letter-forms with a variation in stroke thickness.
This workshop builds upon the knowledge and practice learnt in the beginner workshop. We start with some warm-up strokes and drills before reviewing the basic letter-forms. Then we take a look at common connectors and alternate letter-forms before trying our hand at some simple flourishes.
The second part of the workshop will focus on developing our own style and we'll get the chance to try out some coloured inks. The final project involves writing out a short quote, pulling together all the skills learnt in the class!
What we provide: A full Calligraphy kit including pen holder, different nibs, ink and plenty of practice sheets all put together into a lovely pack for you to take home on the day and continue your practice.
