This Autumn, we welcome Surrey Art School founder Ellie Green back to the woods for a Woodland Inks Workshop with a seasonal twist.
At this tipping point of the year, when the trees finally lose their leaves and let go, it may appear as though there is little on the branch or forest floor to inspire us creatively. And yet, as the trees revert to a skeletal state – we find stunning fractal patterns in their bare branches, beautiful textures on bark and magic in the moody misty mornings.
Join Ellie for an Oak Gall Ink making demonstration, before settling down to use the fruits of the trees to capture the bare branches and stunning textures of the late Autumn season using a brush and some home-made ink.
We’ll spend the morning creating dreamy winter studies of the woodland – playing with washes and working with a range of different brushes and brush strokes to capture our surroundings.
Following the creative workshop, we’ll sit down at our shared dining table beneath the trees for a 2-course lunch, cooked in our open-fire kitchen.
Workshop Date: Friday 21st October 2022
Workshop Time: 10:00 to 13:30
Workshop Level: Beginner
Workshop Location: The Salt Box, Red Oak Barn, Priory Farm Estate, South Nutfield RH1 4EJ
