This season we are inviting you to meet with Ebru for a calming and mindful introduction to the magical art of painting on water. Ebru - also known as cloud-painting for the way that the paint clouds as it spreads across the water - is an ancient art-form originating in Turkey and dating back to as early as the 15th Century. Of course we’ll be adding a contemporary twist to the outcomes we produce, but the rest of the experience will be as authentic as it gets folks!

This deeply satisfying and fully immersive full day course will teach you all you need to know to create stunning prints from old photographs or new. Take a cheap digital shot or photo-copy and transform it into a work of art!

Jazz up your winter gifting with a splash of colour and pattern this season with our fun twist on the traditional turkish Ebru marbling workshop.

We’ll be making it modern for this fun Friday night workshop working with acrylics but still keeping it mindful as we slow things down and drop paint onto the surface of a thickened water bath to make totally unique designs.

You’ll create a series of test prints onto special paper that can be collaged into cards as well as transferring designs directly onto gift tags to take home on the day. As it’s the season to be jolly we’ll include a glass of fizz in this fun Friday night workshop!

You will be given a sketchbook with your first class and our skills based sessions will improve your technical skill and inspire new ways of working that harness confidence and creativity.

No pressure, lots of laughter and plenty of time to reflect on the week.

Parian is type of porcelain which when high fired has the appearance of white marble. It has a translucent quality enabling light to shine through, making it the ideal material to hang from your illuminated Christmas tree!

Brush lettering is a really useful skill for budding artists and can be used to embellish sketchbook pages for GCSE and A level or just as a way to switch off and tune in to something that doesn't involve a screen - so this Summer we are offering an extra special teen brush workshop to get our young artists writing beautifully!

The theme for the Autumn term is Science and Art and we'll be encouraging our students to act as 'polymaths' making links through their practice between exploring the natural world and learning to record it through drawing, painting, print-making, paper making and book-binding.
