Sketchbook Club - Evening Session: 7pm - 8.15pm

Break up the week with our Sketchbook art class, suitable for absolute beginners to any level. A chance to meet and make regularly and get back into your creative flow. Make art, drink tea,  talk art, talk life, meet others and make in our cosy studio. Each week we will work on a different aspect of art practice and fill our sketchbooks with creative experiments.

You will be given a sketchbook with your first class and our skills based sessions will improve your technical skill and inspire new ways of working that harness confidence and creativity.

If drawing feels like a chore and you’d like to learn more about how to loosen up your line, let it flow with ease and glow with light and shadow then our learn to draw course is just what you need! We’ve designed a 6 week course with absolute beginners in mind that takes you gently through the core concepts of drawing, teaching you the tricks that make putting marks to paper easy!

There are 5 key concepts that will help you to draw with accuracy.

Over this 6 week comprehensive course you’ll gain a full understanding of:

  • Edges - All lines

  • Spaces - The space between those lines

  • Relationships - One shape in relation to another or proportion

  • Light and Shadow - Understanding tonal scales

  • Gestalt - Your own style

TUESDAY 20TH AUGUST 2019 / 9:30 – 13:00 / THE PRIORY FARM ESTATE / £35.

We’ll be using bugs, bees and butterflies as inspiration for a fun print-making session using non toxic, vegetable oil based inks to create mono-printed insect drawings and capture the textures of the forest before learning how to light and cook over the fire in this fab collaboration with The Salt Box. Suitable for 6 - 11 year olds. Booking via The Salt Box.
