This fab day course teaches you how to create beautiful, almost painterly marks on lino, smooth indents or rugged textures with a lot less elbow grease than traditional cutting tools and a range of NEW opportunities to experiment with the surface of a lino block.

Break up the week with our Sketchbook art class, suitable for absolute beginners to any level. A chance to meet and make regularly and get back into your creative flow. Make art, drink tea,  talk art, talk life, meet others and make in our cosy studio. Each week we will work on a different aspect of art practice and fill our sketchbooks with creative experiments.

You will be given a sketchbook with your first class and our skills based sessions will improve your technical skill and inspire new ways of working that harness confidence and creativity.

No pressure, lots of laughter and plenty of time to reflect on the week.

This summer we’re taking some of our very best technical workshops ‘out and about’ using the stunning Surrey Hills as the backdrop for our summer school for budding artists passionate about sharpening their pencils and their focus with our blend of mindfulness and creativity.

Drawing is about more than simply picking up a pencil - how do I hold it? What marks can it make? What is the difference between a B and a H. This zen drawing workshop has been an absolute hit with our adult learners as it breaks down a vocabulary of marks into a simple format to help us better understand just what our pencil can do and what to do with it!

Brush lettering is a popular and commercial style of lettering seen everywhere from packaging to greetings cards to signage. It is versatile and easy to learn! All you need is a brush and some ink or a brush pen.

In this calming and creative Sunday morning workshop, Leanda will take you step by step through a brush lettering alphabet - providing a full toolkit to support your studies - culminating in creating your own brush lettered artwork to take home at the end of the session.

If you go down to the woods today you might be surprised at the benefits to your overall well-being that spending some time amongst the trees can provide. Inspired by the Japanese tradition of forest bathing, we'll be heading back into the woods for our Autumn Yoga and Art retreat to ground ourselves from root to tree top.

This unique masterclass allows you access to one of our true local talents. Jane will introduce you to some of her work and her working methods using the wet-on-wet watercolour technique. She will teach you step by step how to draw out. colour and finish a simple bee study over the course of the afternoon.
