Join Ellie for a soothing and summer inspired 2.5 hour Botanical Painting workshop where she will guide you step by step through the process of creating your own Sunflower painting. You can expect a very gentle, beginner-kind morning in the studio making our own sunshine, whatever the weather…

In this Summer inspired workshop we'll delve into the textures and colours of the garden in full bloom. Spending a gentle afternoon drawing on the lawn, we'll begin by learning some loose sketching techniques in pencil. We'll then refine our drawings in fine-liner, adding dotting, line and shadow work to bring our outline sketches to life.

The afternoon will be broken into two workshops, with a break for tea, locally roasted coffee and scrumptious homemade cakes midway through (vegan option available).

This season Surrey Art School founder Ellie Green invites you back to the Sculpture Garden to witness and capture this transformation in motion. Working with autumnal-toned drawing inks, a dip pen and watercolour brush - we'll capture the stark silhouettes, brittle foliage and warm bronzed tones on paper. 

All materials and light refreshments are included in this workshop - you will be given a round watercolour brush and a dip pen to take home on the day…

This class is a beginner-kind class. It’s inspired by nature, the season and aimed at re-establishing a connection to nature and oneself. We'll work with non-toxic vegetable oil based inks and pull prints that look almost photographic in quality and detail. No previous print experience necessary - perfect for beginners.

Join us for a day of creativity, yoga and uplifting nature-based connection at the stunning Inner Bloom studio nestled at the base of the South Downs. Inspired by Summer Wildflowers, we’ll connect to the wild inner-child within through meditation, yoga, guided journaling and soothing botanical painting.

Join us this summer for a chance to paint dragonflies and demoiselles dancing over the water using beginner-kind watercolour techniques and some beautiful, iridescent paints that will make your paintings sparkle in the sun. A slow and soothing summer-inspired workshop that includes delicious food and bottomless cups of coffee and tea for you to sip and nibble on whilst time ebbs away.

In this second summer-inspired workshop we'll be sketching en plein air in the gardens, working with soft pencil techniques and a range of mark-making to create soft tonal studies of summer blooms. Later in the afternoon we’ll switch it up to soft pastels - bringing colour and life to our studies. We'll create a series of soft studies of our surroundings, capturing the gentle mood of summer on paper.

In this first, spring inspired workshop we'll delve into the textures and colours of the garden in bloom. Beginning with some loosening up exercises 'taking a line for a walk' -  we'll learn how to sketch and then refine our drawings with a fine-liner - adding dotting, mark-making and strengthening our outlines to bring our sketches to life.  At the end of the workshop we'll add vibrancy and movement to our drawings, adding a splash of artist quality watercolours to our designs.

Mindful Photography is more than just taking photographs – it’s a moving meditation – a grounding lesson in slowing down, developing our sighting skills and connecting to space in a calming natural environment. Tune in your 'attentional aperture' learning to look at the world with new eyes as we slow down and notice the small things - the little changes in the light, the colours, the textures, in our surroundings.

As we walk through the secluded grounds at Windsor Park, looking for signs of Spring in Nature, you’ll learn some basic shooting options on your device as well as how to create more compelling photographic compositions.

Join us for a soothing Spring-inspired workshop where you’ll learn how to create paintings of a range of Wild Bird Eggs, Feathers and Nests using drawing inks, a dip pen and a sprinkle of pigment powder. At the end of the workshop we’ll nestle our eggs into a nest using some fun, expressive brush techniques!

A nature journal is a space to record your observations, thoughts and feelings about what you experience in Nature. We’ll begin by taking a guided walk through the local woodland and meadow at Windsor Park, looking out for signs of spring in Nature.

After the walk we’ll return to the Environmental Centre for some light refreshments and under the gentle guidance of Artist teacher Ellie Green, you’ll learn how to set up a nature journal to record your finds using beginner-friendly techniques.
